      Why Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapists are experts in how the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems function. Early intervention prevents more costly treatment later, can result in a faster recovery, and reduces costs associated with lost time from work.

What do Physical Therapists do?

Physical Therapists help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients with injuries or disease. They also restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health.

When do you need a Physical Therapist?

The following list contains some of the most common reasons to see a physical therapist:
Back conditions, knee problems, shoulder/arm conditions, neck conditions, sprains and muscle strains, ankle/foot problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, hand/wrist problems, hip fracture, post-surgical rehabilitation, rehabilitation after a serious injury (i.e., broken bones, head injury, car accident), stroke rehabilitation, problems with balance, pre-/post-natal programs, incontinence, women's health, bone health (osteopenia/osteoporosis)

Call 330-564-4100 Do I need a physician's referral? In Ohio you may see a physical therapist without a doctor's referral, but be sure to check your health insurance plan to see if physical therapist services are covered without a physician's referral.
Our rehabilitation and health center focuses on the effective communication among
all who provide care for the patient.
As of May 2003 Physical and Occupational Therapists do not require a referral to evaluate and treat the patient. Most all payers (see list of payers we accept) do not require a referral for a Physical / Occupational Therapist.

Will my insurance pay for my physical therapy?

Most insurance policies cover physical therapy services when provided by a physical therapist.

What will I need prior to beginning my physical therapy?

Prior to your first visit with the PT, we require that you fill out a few short questionnaires: A Medical History, a brief Quality of Life, and if in pain, a Body Specific questionnaire.

Will you need my insurance card?

Yes. We will make a copy of your insurance card upon your arrival in our office.
We will also verify your Physical and Occupational Therapy benefit at the first visit .

Do the Physical Therapists at RHC belong to a professional organization?

The physical therapists and physical therapist assistants at RHC are members of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Physical therapists who are members of the APTA pledge to comply with the Association's Code of Ethics and Guide for Professional Conduct. APTA members maintain and promote high standards in the provision of physical therapy services.
